Demian Yakel, D.O.
A native of Worland, Dr. Demian Yakel returns to his home state of Wyoming. Dr. Yakel is proud to return to his roots after providing care in Virginia specializing in minimally invasive and reconstructive surgery of the spine. During his time in Virginia, Dr. Yakel was one of the first surgeons called after the Virginia Tech massacre in 2007. He received a “Salute to Service Award” from the Medical Society of Virginia Foundation for his “compassionate response to the shooting.” During his time in Blacksburg, VA, Dr. Yakel was an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
He earned his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from Midwestern University/Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and his undergraduate degree from Northern Arizona University.
As a 4th generation Wyomingite, Dr. Yakel is excited to bring his young family to the West and provide his children with the opportunities “only Wyoming can provide.” Dr. Yakel is skilled in martial arts with a Black Belt in Kenpo Karate.
