Wyoming Medical Center and Wyoming Neurologic Associates promotes stroke awareness month because stroke is the third leading cause of death in this country. The more familiar you are with the warning signs, the more likely you are to receive effective treatment.

Know the warning signs

Call 9-1-1 immediately for sudden onset of:

  • Numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
  • Confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
  • Trouble seeing in one or both eyes
  • Trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
  • Severe headache with no known cause
